studexa1. The short version
Studexa stores the information needed to provide your study workspace. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect it. No internet service can promise absolute security, but access to account data is restricted and sensitive server credentials are not exposed to the browser.
2. Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, optional username, sign-in provider identifier, Studexa account/student ID, and account and session information. The Studexa ID is an internal identifier used to locate the correct user account for support, billing and refund requests. We store the study content you choose to add, including subjects, notes, study packs, flashcards, quizzes, answers, mistakes, tasks, exams, focus sessions and progress records.
We also receive ordinary technical information required to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps and server error logs.
3. How we use information
We use information to authenticate you, save and display your workspace, generate study material, provide tutor responses, calculate practice progress, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, fulfil subscriptions and improve reliability.
4. AI features and practice metrics
When you create a Study Pack, Studexa sends the subject, notes, and any study images or documents you choose to upload to configured AI providers such as OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to. Uploaded source files are used for generation and stored privately with the related Study Pack so you can view or download them while signed in. When you use AI Tutor, Studexa sends your current message, limited conversation history, and educational content from a Study Pack only when you explicitly select it.
Studexa does not automatically send readiness scores, target grades, quiz-performance history, Mistake Book history, XP, streaks, tasks or study-session activity to the Study Pack generator or AI Tutor. Readiness Score, quiz percentages, progress, mistake tracking, Exam Rescue calculations, XP, streaks and achievements are calculated by ordinary fixed rules, not AI.
Studexa does not send your password, session cookie or token, database credentials, or complete payment-card information to the AI provider. Do not submit highly sensitive personal information in study content or messages. AI output can be incorrect and should be checked against your original course material.
5. Payments and PayPal
Paid subscriptions are processed through PayPal. You may use PayPal checkout or, where PayPal marks your account and device as eligible, enter card details in PayPal-hosted secure fields displayed within Studexa. Those sensitive fields send card data directly to PayPal. Studexa does not receive or store your full card number, security code or complete PayPal credentials.
For embedded card subscriptions, Studexa stores limited billing records such as PayPal order, capture, customer and vault identifiers, card brand, last four digits, expiry month, plan, consent time, payment status and billing dates. A PayPal vault identifier allows recurring charges without storing the card number. PayPal’s terms and privacy notice apply to payment information processed through its services.
6. Cookies and sign-in
Studexa uses essential cookies for secure sign-in sessions and OAuth verification. These cookies are required for account access and security. If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides a verified account identifier, name and email subject to Google’s policies.
7. Sharing
We do not sell your study data. Information is shared only where needed to operate requested features, process payments, maintain hosting and database infrastructure, prevent fraud, comply with law, or protect users and the service.
8. Retention and your choices
Account and study information is retained while your account is active and as reasonably needed for service, security, dispute and legal obligations. You may request access, correction or deletion of personal information. Some transaction records may have to be retained by PayPal or Studexa where required by law.
9. Security
We use safeguards such as encrypted HTTPS connections, password hashing, restricted server-side database access, signed payment notifications and secure session cookies. You are responsible for choosing a strong password and keeping your sign-in details private.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected by a revised effective date. Privacy questions or requests can be sent to support@studexa.site.
